Hello Friend,

 

I am Joan-Lisa Shinault, Author and Publisher.  I am so excited about the release of my first professionally published literary work, Supernatural Living Today! (September 2013) and my sophomore book, This Kind of Faith (March, 2015).  

 

The milestone accomplishment of these published works have been in the making for a long time.  It was God’s ordained purpose for my life to write under His influence and teach His people the truth of His Word through the use of words.  My love for people and my desire to share with others the love and testimony of God in my life is what inspires me to write.

 

In the mid to late 1990s the Lord revealed to me in prayer that I had books in my belly.  Later in the Spring of 2003, again while in prayer the Lord expanded the vision and commissioned me to establish a Christian publishing company.  He later unfolded the vision and revealed that this company’s mission would be to support those gifted in the areas of writing and other creative media.  In 2008, Sound Doctrine Publishing was founded. 

 

Interestingly, my formal educational background is not at all related to the discipline of Creative Writing, English, Literature, Journalism, or anything of that nature.  God really does take the things that look foolish to us and uses them to prove a point; He is God and that man’s wisdom could never override His authority. 

 

I never had a desire to write professionally, and I definitely had no interest in the publishing industry.  However through a series of life events the Lord progressively revealed to me my calling as a Teacher and Scribe, I finally embraced the call and when I decided to “wear” what God created me to “put on”, I realized that it fit like a kid’s glove!  Writing to get a message across is natural to me.  I realized I love words and that I was truly a wordsmith. 

 

Since the time the Lord originally spoke to me until the date of my first published work, it took approximately 20 years to see the manifestation of what He said would come to pass.  It has not been easy, life happened over those years, but I was determined to see the vision through.  The opposition has been great, the resources slim, the time to devote limited, but one thing is for sure, if the first book had not been completed there would not be BOOKS (emphsis, on "s" plural).

 

At some point I realized that in order to see God’s Word fulfilled I had to get that first book published to begin the process!  Once I got the first book out, then I could move toward fulfillment of the many, which is God’s purpose.  So, it is with my first book Supernatural Living Today! I  began my literary journey.  Now, with book #2 published, I have begun the work on book #3 and project to have a multiplicity of content released within the Summer of 2015 and years end of 2016.  I am excited about walking out and experiencing this literary journey.  Will you come and join me?
