For many, it is common to grope around in our natural state and dwell in our carnal existence, never coming to the true understanding that we are spirit first. We are designed to be controlled and guided by the dictates of the Holy Spirit and not our lower natures.  The truth is that we live beneath our spiritual means because we lack spiritual understanding.  Instead of His Spirit leading our spirits, we try to compare His Spirit with our nature or flesh. Neither nature nor flesh can compare with the Spirit.
